Raj Saker grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Sciences and Dean’s List awards in Honors Organic Chemistry. After college, Mr. Saker was awarded a federal grant to conduct research on gene therapy solutions to treat children diagnosed with Ectodermal Displasia, a congenital autoimmune disorder, at the National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Maryland. Mr. Saker then worked his way through Northwestern University School of Law by clerking for the presiding judge for Cook County Circuit Court and working for KPMG, LLP.
After law school, Mr. Saker began his legal career as a State of Minnesota Assistant Public Defender, routinely handling jury trials on the adult felony trial calendar. After moving to Arizona, Mr. Saker proudly served as an Assistant Attorney General, where he investigated and prosecuted civil violations of corporate income tax and transaction privilege tax laws. Mr. Saker’s targets included national retail store chains, international telecommunications companies, billboard companies, slum lords, and strip clubs. In his official capacity, Mr. Saker litigated at the Board of Tax Appeals, State Tax Court, and Appellate Court.
